Below is information to use when assigning emails in Slate or transferring phone calls to members of the MBA Admissions & Student Recruitment team or members from the Kenan-Flagler community. Please note: If you are responding to a candidate and the staff member is not in Slate, make sure to include the full name, title, and email address of the person you are connecting them to within the body of the email. Be sure to cc the staff member before you hit send to hand off the communication.

Email Etiquette

Include a signature block at the bottom
Use the recipient's first name and do not shorten unless you are certain (Example: Mike instead of Michael)
Use exclamation points sparingly
Know that people from different cultures speak and write differently
Proofread every message before you hit send
Answer the question in the email - if you do not know, research or ask a member on the team
Nothing is confidential - so write accordingly

General FT MBA Prospect Inquiries

The MBA Program Assistant and MBA Student Assistants are responsible for answering emails in the Slate general MBA admissions inbox and over the phone. He/She will respond or assign emails/phone calls to the proper point of contact when a detailed response is required and a Slate snippet is not available. It is important that all information provided to the caller or email recipient is correct. If you are unsure on how to respond then please contact a member of the MBA admissions team.
