The Allison Undergraduate Business Mentorship Program (AMP) offers first-year students at UNC an opportunity to gain essential professional development support while learning more about the application process for the Kenan-Flagler Business School. The program was created to better support underserved populations, including—but not limited to—first-generation college students and those experiencing financial hardship.
Program Overview Through AMP, mentees engage in professional development and application readiness programming, while also building relationships with current business student mentors through structured activities and events. The program is most impactful for students who actively invest in and engage with the experience.
Application Timeline The application deadline is 9:00 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Applicants will receive a decision by EOD on September 9, 2026.

Are you a first generation college student?
The term ‘‘first-generation college student’’ means— (A) An individual both of whose parents did not complete a baccalaureate degree; or (B) In the case of any individual who regularly resided with and received support from only one parent, an individual whose only such parent did not complete a baccalaureate degree.
In keeping with AMP’s mission, please describe why you would benefit from this mentorship program during your first year of college.
Reflect on any barriers or challenges that may make it more difficult for you to navigate college, access opportunities, or feel fully prepared for your academic or career path. These may include academic, personal, or other experiences that have shaped your transition to college.
Briefly share how mentorship would help you address these challenges and support your growth. Strong responses will clearly connect your experiences to your need for additional guidance, support, or community.
