    Financial Aid and Fellowships

    How do I confirm my enrollment in the Class of 2024?
    A: Please visit your Application Status Page to complete the Enrollment Reply Form and pay the enrollment deposit.
    How much is the enrollment deposit?
    A: The enrollment deposit is $1500 USD.
    How do I submit official transcripts and test scores?
    A: Detailed directions on submitting transcripts and test scores can be found here.

    Who do I contact if I have questions about financial aid?

    A: Please contact MBAFinancialAid@unc.edu with questions about financial aid and student loans. For questions about merit-based fellowships, please contact MBA Admissions at mba_info@unc.edu.

    Do you offer financial aid for Full-Time MBA candidates?

    A: Financial aid includes fellowships, private scholarships, and all types of student loans. All applicants are considered for merit-based fellowships, which are the only type of “gift” aid offered by the University. Student loan options are available for U.S. citizens and permanent residents* and international students

    How do I know if I received a fellowship?

    A: Candidates are notified at the time of admission if selected for a fellowship award. Fellowships are awarded for the duration of the 2-year program (as long as fellowship criteria is met) and no new fellowship awards are given to students in the second year of the program.

    Am I eligible to use military benefits?

    A: UNC-Chapel Hill, including UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, is approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a training facility for students receiving military education benefits. We are proud participants in the Yellow Ribbon Program for students who don’t qualify for in-state tuition. We support the Post 9/11 GI Bill. And, we comply with the Veterans Choice Act.

    To confirm your eligibility for Yellow Ribbon benefits, apply for financial support through the VA to secure a Certificate of Eligibility. Once you’re admitted to UNC Kenan-Flagler, you’ll submit your Certificate of Eligibility and Yellow Ribbon Application to our MBA Veterans Affairs Specialist.

    How much is the tuition for the Full-Time MBA program?

    A: UNC-Chapel Hill and Kenan-Flagler Business School is a public institution and has two tuition rates based on your North Carolina residency status. For more information about tuition rates, please visit our website.

    How do I qualify for North Carolina in-state tuition?

    A: If you believe that you qualify as a North Carolina resident under state law, you’ll need to submit a residency application with the North Carolina Residency Determination Services (RDS), a government agency. All residency decisions, and appeals, are determined by RDS.

    International Students

    Who do I contact if I have questions about the visa process, I-20, or anything related to paperwork for international students?

    A: Please email the International Student and Scholar Services office at isss@unc.edu for more information and with any visa-related questions.

    How can I pay for my enrollment deposit via Flywire?

    A: UNC has partnered with Flywire to streamline the process of international payments. Flywire allows you to pay securely from any country and any bank, generally in your home currency. You can make your Full-Time MBA deposit payment using Flywire on the UNC website. After you pay the deposit, please send a copy of your receipt to mba_info@unc.edu and you will be marked as enrolled in the class. Because we cannot see Flywire payments, you must send a confirmation in order to confirm your seat.

    MBA Orientation

    When is orientation?

    A: Orientation is scheduled for July 24 - August 5, 2023.

    Is Orientation mandatory?

    A: Yes, Orientation is mandatory for all incoming Full-Time MBA students. Students must attend the entirety of the program. Questions about Orientation can be directed to ftmba@kenan-flagler.unc.edu

    Academics

    When is the first day of classes for fall 2022?

    A. Classes will begin on August 7, 2023.

    I just received a message from UNC that I need to register for my classes, how do I do that?

    A: You can ignore this email since it doesn't apply to UNC Kenan-Flagler students. We automatically register you for Mod I & II.

    How can I get a copy of the academic calendar?

    A: You can find the academic calendar here. Please note that the calendar is subject to change.

    What fellowship opportunities are available to me if I apply via The Consortium?

    A: If you are offered admission to our program, you will be automatically considered for merit-based fellowships offered by UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. We award merit-based fellowships based on the following criteria: a superior record of achievement in academic and career settings, diverse experiences, and strong leadership potential and interpersonal skills. These criteria are also used when we consider Consortium applicants for The Consortium tuition fellowship.

    When will I hear if I have received a fellowship?

    A: You will be notified of your UNC Kenan-Flagler fellowship award at the same as you receive your admissions decision. The Consortium fellowship decisions will be issued directly by The Consortium.

    How does the referral process work?
    A: As a partner institution, we have the pleasure of referring UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA students to be considered for Consortium membership. If you are interested in a referral, please include examples of actions in your personal, professional, or academic life that demonstrate a commitment to The Consortium’s mission in your email. Please note that candidates must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
